Aloo Gobhi aur Paranthe

Here is my suggestion for a simple Indian meal that can be had for brunch or lunch. It’s healthy, easy and quite light on the digestive system!


  • 1 potato, peeled & cut into cubes
  • 11/2 cup cauliflower floret
  • ½ inch ginger
  • 1 black cardamom
  • ½ tsp cumin seed
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp dry mango powder
  • Pinch garam masala powder
  • 1tbs oil
  • Salt according to taste
  • Fresh chopped coriander for garnish

For the Parantha:

  • 1cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup grounded oat meal
  • ½ tsp cumin seed
  • 1/4tsp salt
  • 2tbs KDD Cream
  • Cooking oil for greasing the parantha.

First, make the dough  by mixing everything with the help of ½ cup & more water except oil.Keep it covered and let it rest for 10-15 min.

For making Ghobhi aalu bhajee, wash chopped vegetable in salted water. Heat oil in a pan , add cumin seeds , black cardamom seeds  and stir. Then add turmeric powder & chopped ginger. Stir & add washed & strained vegetable. Mix salt & cover with lid.

Let it cook for about five mins. on medium heat. Turn off the heat & let it remain covered for five mins. Mix well & heat again on slow fire .Check with a spoon if the potato becomes tender then add the rest of the ingredients. Stir & cook for another five minutes. Remove from fire serve in a bowl & garnish with chopped green coriander leaves.

Now for the paranthas make a ball from the dough, dust with the flour & roll it to make round or triangle paranthas. Heat & grease the flat pan. Cook from both side on medium heat. Serve this healthy meal with Aloo ghobhi & plain yogurt and pickles.
