Orange Tiramisu. A dessert with a twist.
¼ cup mascarpone cheese
¼ cup cool whip
1 tbsp icing sugar
1 orange, peeled, and chopped (with juice)
1 tbsp jam: orange, apricot or peach
1 orange, peeled, sliced, and quartered
¼ cup orange juice
4 Chocolate ladyfingers
4 glasses (for serving)
Whisk together mascarpone, cool whip and icing sugar. In a separate bowl mix chopped oranges with jam. Combine with orange juice in a third bowl. Break ladyfingers into quarters.
Piece by piece, dip 1/8 of the ladyfingers into orange juice and place in the bottom of each glass. Add 1/8 of the crushed oranges to each glass, making sure to cover the ladyfingers. Spread 1/8 of the mascarpone mixture over the oranges. Layer each glass with 1/8 of the sliced oranges. For the second layer, repeat: dipped ladyfingers, crushed oranges, and mascarpone. Garnish with sliced orange.(.If ladyfingers is not available use chocolate cake)
Cover the glasses and leave in the refrigerator overnight.
Before serving, garnish with Fresh Orange slices, cocoa powder or shaved chocolate (optional).
