(Amrood Ki Sabzee with Tikona Parantha)-
Guava is a tropical fruit rich in nutrition. The flavor of this fruit is unique; Guavas are beneficial in regulating blood pressure. This is full of Potassium and rich in fibers. Potassium reverses the effects of sodium, thereby regulating the balance of blood pressure. Also, it reduces cholesterol levels in the blood by preventing it from thickening. Consumption of guavas helps slow down the absorption of sugar in the blood that is why Guava considers as a “super-fruits.”
4-5 Medium size Ripe Guavas
1tsp. Ginger, grated
1tsp. Cumin seeds
½ tsp. Turmeric Powder
½ tsp. Red Chili powder
1tsp. coriander powder
Salt to taste
2tbsp. Fresh coriander, finely chopped
1tsp.Clarified butter or Oil
Wash and cube Guava, remove the seeds if it’s there. Heat, Clarified butter or oil in the pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and cloves, when its turn light brown, add turmeric, Red chili powder, coriander powder and ginger, mix well add cubed guavas. Sauté, add 1cup water and salt. Cover with lid and give one pressure to this.
When it is cool add sugar and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with triangle Parantha.
Note; For serving diabetic, make it without sugar.
