Butter Naan, is flat bread. This is usually made in tandoor, clay oven, can also be made on gas stove or in the oven grill. This bread is very tasty and serves with all types of curries & Dals.Here is the simple steps of making Butter naan at home.


2 cups Plain Flour

2tbsp. yogurt

1/2tsp. Baking powder

Salt to taste

Pinch of sugar

1/2tsp. Cumin seeds

4tbsp. Butter

Milk for Binding the Flour


1-      Combine flour with baking powder, salt, sugar and cumin seeds.

2-      Rub 1tbsp. butter & yogurt in the flour. Add milk and knead softly to make dough.

3-      Apply little butter on the dough and cover with lid. Keep this for resting 2 hours.

4-      Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and make balls.

5-      Dust the surface with flour and roll out the dough ball in the tear drop shape with the help of rolling pin.

6-      Heat the flat pan on medium high heat and place the naan on it.

7-      Cook it from both sides and put this on direct flame to cook further.

8-      Remove from flame and apply butter generously. Serve hot.
