As we all know about the month of November is the month of Diabetic awareness. Diabetes is a chronic and very common disease. Every year it’s increasing in the number of people worldwide.   Diabetic is silently killing disease. Lots of people don’t go for regular check-up and generally people don’t see this.

When Pancreas does not produce enough insulin and which increased the glucose in the blood, cause the Diabetic.

There are two types of Diabetes. Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 is lack of insulin production and type 2 is caused by body’s ineffective use of insulin.

14th November is the World Diabetic Day, on this occasion I would like to spread the message of Eat healthy and keep fit.  Eat better and healthy food not only makes us feel good but keep us disease free. Let’s talk about one of the serious sides of diabetic and how we can avoid its complications.

The right choice of food and freshly cooked meal make a difference not only to managing the diabetic but also keep more energised. Daily diet with fibre rich food and organic fruits and vegetables are really works well to control the diabetic naturally. Walk is very important because it regulates the metabolic rate and supports the level of blood sugar. To support the Diabetic awareness this month joins the walk on 18th November at Zabeel Park Dubai. BEAT DIABETES WALK : Join to support

 

he Walk is a flagship event of the Beat Diabetes initiative, and over the years has become an important calendar event that brings communities together, to pledge their support for diabetes awareness.

The first walk, organized in 2009 in the UAE, saw participation of over 5,000 people. In 2010, the initiative was extended to Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and India. The following year, the initiative was taken to Saudi Arabia. Over the last seven years,the event has garnered immense support with the participation from several government authorities, medical entities, corporates, schools and the local communities. Last year, the Walk had over 50,000 participants across five countries in the GCC.

This Diwali impress your guest and family with Laddu Khas, enjoy the festival with fun food and festivity.

INGREDIENTS

½ cup Semolina

½ cup Besan, (Chick pea flour)

½ cup Aata (Flour)

½ cup Moong dal  Flour, Yellow lentil flour

½ cup Mawa

2 cups  Ghee

2 cups Brown Sugar, powdered plus 2 tbsp. extra

½ cups Chopped nuts, Almonds and Pistachios

1 tbsp. Cardamom Powder

Silver leaf, optional

METHOD

Heat the heavy bottom pan and add ghee and semolina. Roast five minutes and add remaining flours, continuously stirring till you will get the nice roasting aroma. The mixture should be cooked properly till light golden brown. Add all the chopped nuts, cardamom powder and mawa, cook more 3-4 minutes and remove from the heat. When the mixture is slightly cool add powdered sugar. Mix with hands and shape laddu by using both the palms. Roll the laddu in the powdered sugar and press one slice of almonds in each laddu.  Cover with silver leaf for special touch.  Serve with love for Diwali…
